Aptia, a leading provider of pension administration, consultancy, and actuarial services, has appointed Steve Deverell-Smith as Head of Client Consulting. 

Steve brings over 20 years of experience in the pensions consultancy field, advising both trustees and corporates on a wide range of operational and strategic matters. He joins from Law Debenture plc, where he served as a Professional Trustee. Previously, Steve was Head of Corporate Actuarial Services at First Actuarial and held senior roles at WTW and Barnett Waddingham. 

Steve’s appointment follows Aptia’s recent acquisition of Atkin Pensions last November which enables the company to provide a range of pensions consulting and bundled actuarial services focusing on small and medium sized UK pension funds. 

In his new role, Steve will work closely with Aptia’s clients, advising trustees and sponsors on pensions-related matters to ensure long-term sustainability and fairness for members. He will work closely with Stuart Heatley, who was appointed Consulting Leader last month, to oversee Aptia’s consulting and actuarial services offering.
